Tented camps are permanent or semi-permanent camps sited in areas of excellent game viewing. Don't let the word "tent" deceive you, as many camps are luxurious properties offering the same, or even better, comfort levels as the lodges.
Authentic
Tented camps are an authentic way to see Africa at close hand without sacrificing too much comfort. The level of luxury can range from comfortable to ultra-luxury. The camps we selected are small with a cosy atmosphere, situated at stunning locations in or around the parks. They have private spacious canvas tents with a solid base, proper beds and private baths and meals.
Real safari exprience
The big advantage of tented camps is that it is more adventurous and takes you closer to nature. You can overlook wildlife from your dining table and be surrounded by the sounds of nature. In a tented camp you get the real safari experience, something different from home. You can immerse yourself in the wilderness, often with great panoramic views over the African plains. It is also more intimate than lodges as camps generally accommodate only 10 to 20 guests.
